Sergio Villalpando

At age 17, I was already helping manage the darkroom facilities at my high school. It was there where I learned film photography and developed my own prints. Understanding the relationship of light and chemistry by trial and error. Experimenting with manual techniques. All while cultivating a personal and conceptual approach to image-making.

Fast forward to today, I specialize in photographing people. Whether in a studio environment or on location with available light, I take every situation as a creative exercise that must include the exacting technicality of capture and deep understanding of the subject.

Sharing my passions is a core value and my approach to teaching is identical to my approach to photography work: striving for best practices all while centering the human experience first.
