Capturing the Beauty of Lofoten & Northern Lights experience:
Join Our 5 star Photography Expedition, stay in a private Rorbu.
This trip will be led by: Riccardo Galardi who speaks French, Italian, English & Claudio Flocco who speaks French, English, Italian
Lofoten islands are an archipelago of islands located 95 miles North of the Arctic Circle, in the northernmost region of Norway renowned for its incredible nature and fantastic photography opportunities. Its stunning landscapes and dramatic mountain peaks provide the perfect backdrop for any photographer looking to capture breathtaking shots.

After arriving at Harstad/Evenes airport in the evening, we will head to our hotel or apartment for the night. We’ll have the chance to capture some amazing sunset photos before dinner and then we’ll venture out again for a Northern Lights photo session.
After a sunrise breakfast, we will drive approximately 4.5 hours across the breathtaking Lofoten Islands, crossing majestic bridges and fjords. Our route leads to the Reine/Sund area, home to some of the most stunning landscapes we’ll explore in the coming days. Along the way, we’ll stop at scenic locations, including a spectacular beach with a short hiking trail. By evening, we will settle into traditional RORBU cabins near Kåkeren, offering a cozy and stylish stay just steps away from Lofoten’s famous landmarks. These cabins provide stunning views and easy access to prime photography locations, even for the Aurora spots.
Our day starts with a sunrise photography session in Reine, followed by a visit to Hamnøy. We will spend the day exploring Reine, continuing west to the remote village of Tind, where the road ends. Along the way, we’ll stop at a local fish market, showcasing Lofoten’s best seafood products.
We will visit the small fishing village of Sund for a sunrise session featuring an iconic lighthouse and traditional fish-drying racks, essential to the local culture. Along the way, we’ll stop at scenic locations, to do filter usage classes and compositions.
Our journey continues to Flakstad Beach, where we’ll explore the surrounding coastal villages and take a scenic excursion to admire the impressive bridges connecting the islands. A short hike will offer a panoramic viewpoint of the dramatic landscapes.
Leaving Reine, we embark on a 2-hour drive to Svolvær, stopping along the way to capture spectacular fjords, hidden mountain churches, frozen lakes, and picturesque fishing villages. In the evening, we’ll arrive in Svolvær, a vibrant and modern town where we’ll stay in a luxurious 5-star hotel built within a private fisherman’s island village.
After breakfast, we will take a scenic route towards Harstad, stopping at multiple viewpoints along the way. We’ll witness colorful landscapes and end the day with a sunset session overlooking the fjord. Later, we will check into a hotel near the airport (50 minutes away) for a convenient departure the following day.
Our workshop will come to an end and we’ll depart from the airport.

The first and the last night of the trip will be spent in a comfortable hotel in Harstad. The other nights will take place in traditional rorbu — the iconic fishermen’s red cabins of the Lofoten Islands — carefully selected for their quality, tranquility, and comfort.
When booking a single room, you will always have your own private bedroom, comfortable, quiet, and well insulated for a good night’s rest after long photography days. In some accommodations located in more remote areas, a rorbu may be shared with another participant and, in some cases, the bathroom may be shared. To ensure comfort and privacy for everyone, no rorbu will have more than two bedrooms and at most two rooms will share the same bathroom. These accommodations are not hotels but fully equipped apartments with all the necessary amenities. During three nights of the trip we will stay in a location where breakfast service is not available. On those mornings, we will personally prepare breakfast for the group according to everyone’s preferences.
For lunch, we will try to stop in locations where you can have a light meal without losing valuable daylight hours. Each evening, depending on weather conditions and the group’s energy levels, we will organize a small “Photography Aperitif” in the rorbu of your instructors. This will be an opportunity to gather, review the images of the day, discuss the plan for the following day, and enjoy an Italian-style aperitif with a glass of Prosecco.
In several accommodations, a sauna is also available (for an additional fee) and can be booked during the trip — a great way to relax and warm up after a day spent chasing the perfect light of the Lofoten Islands.
