Your coach knows Iceland's best locations and timing, taking you beyond the tourist stops to hidden viewpoints.

You learn long exposure techniques at waterfalls, composition in vast landscapes and how to photograph the aurora. Small group, professional coaching, and a landscape you'll never forget.

This trip will be led by: Hamda Kort who speaks Français, English

Location

Where do we go?

Iceland’s volcanic origins have produced some of Earth’s most stunning natural landscapes. Whether you are a novice or a professional, you will develop your skills as a photographer while practicing on monumental waterfalls, extraterrestrial mountains and craters, crystal blue lakes and even the streets of downtown Reykjavik. This tour has it all.

On this trip, you will expand your skills in taking beautiful photos even in challenging light conditions. Take magnificent photos from dawn to dusk: from the sun shining on sparkling “Diamond Beach” to the top of snowy mountains, to waterfalls flowing inside a canyon.

You will have the chance to master the skill of composition by practicing on beautiful landscapes with fascinating histories. Apply your creativity to the basalt sea stacks of Reynisdrangar, which legend says was formed when two trolls failed to land their ship on the black sand beaches and found it turned to stone by morning.

Not only will you go home with images to be proud of, but you will also be able to use your new skills to improve and expand your photographic technique when you return home. Apart from the technical aspect of learning your camera capabilities, you will learn how to turn an ordinary image into an extraordinary image by using your own creativity.

Day 2

Seljalandsfoss and Skogafoss waterfalls, black sand beaches of Reynisfjara.

These two days will be devoted to the famous waterfalls of the region (Seljalandsfoss, Skógafoss) and the black sand beach. Different composition exercises and games with light will enliven these days.

Day 3

Departure for the Jökulsárlón glacier

We'll stop to explore the Fjaðrárgljúfur, Thakgil and Múlagljúfur canyons, where short walks will take us to beautiful viewpoints on these unique cliffs.

Day 4 & 5

The impressive Vesturhorn and the Jökulsárlón glacier

These two days will be devoted to photographing the famous Jökulsárlón glacier and the Vesturhorn mountain.

Several opportunities and vantage points around these two subjects to work on compositions and optimize the chances of getting the best light.

We will also discover Múlagljúfursi and the small but beautiful Skútafoss waterfall.

Day 6

Black sand beach, short walk to Hundafoss

Stop and short walk to Hundafoss

Sunset on the black sand beach or at one of the waterfalls, depending on participants' wishes

Day 7

Brúarárfoss waterfall, Strokkur geyser, the great Gullfoss

There are still many gems to explore in Iceland, and we'll be passing by some of them on our last day of photography.

The Brúarárfoss waterfall is often missed by travellers, but we won't make that mistake.

Not to forget the classics: the Strokkur geyser, the great Gullfoss.

Possible sunset at Valahnúkamöl

Day 8

Return

Return to our region with a morning flight.

Please note: This itinerary is subject to change depending on weather conditions, light quality and unexpected delays. For example if there is a great location with great light, we stay longer. We ask that you put your faith in the experience of our guides and tutors, who occasionally choose to slightly alter the program to ensure you have the best possible experience.
