The Matterhorn is one of the most photographed mountains in the world — and on this photo trip, you'll learn to capture it properly. Zermatt and the Valais Alps offer spectacular panoramas, alpine lakes, glaciers and a mountain landscape that looks different in every light.
You photograph at sunrise by the Riffelsee, explore the car-free old town of Zermatt and learn long exposure techniques at mountain streams. On clear nights, astrophotography sessions with the Matterhorn as your backdrop.
This photo trip is ideal for landscape photographers of all levels. Small group, professional coaching and one of the most iconic backdrops in Switzerland.
The Matterhorn is one of the world's most famous mountain peaks and for sure one of the iconic shots when it comes to landscape photography. Standing almost 4’500m tall at the border of Swiss canton Wallis and the Italian Aosta valley, it shows a significant and distinct shape that is best seen (and photographed) from the east.
To get the best views and compositions of this Swiss classic, we will set camp at the Fluhalp and visit all the famous mountain lakes that reflect the Matterhorn like a mirror. The Stellisee will be on our list as well as the Grindjisee and 3 others. We will explore the high alpine region of Zermatt, visit the rural mountain village of Findeln and enjoy incredible panoramic views from sunrise to sunset.

We will be accommodated at the Fluhalp on 2620m – beautiful panorama and Matterhorn view included. We will have shared and private rooms available. The accommodation covers breakfast and dinner. However, the Fluhalp is not a hotel but a true mountain hut. Showers are available but you will have to bring your own towels. If you wish to stay in a private room or a double bedroom with your partner or friend, please let us know.
Even though 2 meals are included, hiking in the mountains and being outdoors all day will make you hungry. Please bring your own snacks and supplies for the day and don‘t forget a water bottle.
