Francesco Pennacchio

Francesco is an eclectic human being whose experience ranges from chemistry and physics to photojournalism and documentary photography, data science to public health. Still, he only feel complete with a camera in his hand and a story to tell.

Holding an MA in Documentary Photography and Photojournalism from the University of the Arts, London, he is deeply engaged in teaching and sharing his passion for photography. His passions are street and documentary photography, travel photography, photo editing and storytelling, and drone photography.

Fascinated by human beings, his photographic and artistic research lies at the intersection among memory, identity, grief and health inequalities. He is currently working on two main project lines: Syndemia, focusing on health inequalities in the LGBTQ+ community, and Unlike Flowers, She won’t come back with Spring, focusing on the recovery of the memory of his deceased mother. He is deep in love with Edinburgh, rivers, photo archives, Lady Gaga and Pad Thai.
