Discover the World of Small Wonders
Are you attentive to the little things? Would you like to capture the hidden beauty in the finest details?
In this macro photography course, you will learn to photograph small subjects with breathtaking sharpness up to 1:1 magnification. You will discover textures, shapes and colours that are barely perceptible to the naked eye, and learn to reveal the fascinating world of miniature details through your lens.
Course Outline
Learn to use your macro photography equipment directly in the field, taking advantage of the setting of the Geneva Botanical Garden.
From shot to spectacular image.
Our instructors will guide you through the entire macro photography outdoor workflow, with time for theory to lay the foundations followed by guided hands-on practice:
- Defining your subject: do you want to capture the details of a flower, or those of an insect coming to feed on it? Learn when and how to go about capturing the right moments.
- Camera settings: finding the optimal manual settings (aperture, ISO, shutter speed) for macro.
- Mastering light: using and shaping light to create depth and reveal textures. Learn what equipment can help you elevate your shots.
- Critical focus: achieving the best sharpness, despite the constraints of a shallow depth of field.
- Post-processing: an introduction to editing to enhance your macro images.
