What are the SPC Photo Awards?

The SPC Photo Awards are far more than an online photo competition. Every submitted image is printed in large format and exhibited in a recognized art gallery — in Zurich, Geneva, Basel, Berlin, or Vienna.

A professional jury evaluates all exhibited works, while gallery visitors vote for their favourites during the Vernissage. Winners are awarded in both Jury and Public categories.

What makes this photography competition unique: every participant sees their work printed, framed, and hung on gallery walls — an experience far beyond an online vote. Since 2019, over 5,000 photographers have participated in our competitions and photo exhibitions across Switzerland, Germany, and Austria.

Who can participate?

Everyone! The SPC Photo Awards are open to photographers of all levels — beginners and professionals alike. No professional equipment needed. Smartphone photos are welcome.

Participation is open to photographers worldwide. Submit 1 to 5 photos on any theme before the deadline. Every image will be printed and exhibited in the gallery.

Conditions

  • Make sure to submit your photo title and a short description
  • No watermarks / copyright signs should be visible
  • There is no theme required for your photos – you can send your top photos. For the exhibition, we will sort the big prints based on themes.
  • Ideally full size, minimum 2000 pixels wide long edge. Accepted formats: JPG, Color space: sRGB.
  • If you have a person clearly identifiable in your photo, you can of course submit it for exhibition and win prizes. However, if you’d like to offer it for sale too, you will need a model release.
  • You will always keep the rights for your photo. We will not use it for any commercial purposes.
