Spread over five evening sessions, this format allows you to practice between classes with dedicated homework assignments, ensuring you truly master the software. You will learn to organize thousands of photos efficiently, edit your images to professional standards using the latest AI tools, and share your work with the world.

What to Bring With You

  • Laptop: A PC or Mac with Adobe Lightroom Classic installed and ready to use. (Note: Please ensure you have the "Classic" version, not the cloud-based "Lightroom"). If you don't have a laptop, let us know in advance and we will provide you one to use during the course.
  • Photos: A selection of your own RAW images (approx. 50-100) on your hard drive to practice with.
  • Charger: Don't forget your power adapter!

  • Setting up a professional Folder & Storage structure (SSD vs. HDD).
  • The Import Dialog: "Copy" vs. "Add" and creating Import Presets.
  • Homework: Setting up your folder structure and importing your first batch.

Session 2: Library & Organization

  • The Culling Process: Speed-sorting with Flags and Stars.
  • Using Filters and Smart Collections to automate organization.
  • Syncing with Lightroom Cloud for mobile viewing.
  • Homework: Culling a full photoshoot down to your "Top 10".

Session 3: Global Development

  • The Histogram: Understanding clipping and exposure.
  • Basic Panel mastery: White Balance, Tone Control, and Presence.
  • Color Profiling and Lens Corrections.
  • Handling Noise: Using the new AI Denoise feature.
  • Homework: "Fixing the Light" – Global edits on your selected images.
