For me, the most important thing about photography is to develop my own view of the motifs. Each person feels and sees differently, which makes photography a personal and exciting art. I prefer a direct view of my surroundings, which is why street photography, travel photography and architecture are among my preferred subjects.

Although I consider myself a visual artist, photography is the most important form of expression for me as an artist. Without constant development as a photographer and as an artist, one ends up in self-reproduction and boredom. That is why I try to reinvent myself from time to time and to exceed the limits of my previous photography and expression. In photography trainings and workshops this leads to exciting encounters with mutual inspiration.

In addition to my own projects, I also work on client projects, which are usually related to a charity project.

It is all about connecting – that is what photography stands for.
Daniel’s first camera ever was actually an Apple iPhone 3G S. Starting in 2014, mobile photography has helped him to gain an easy and playful access to photography and to express his strong design sense and intuition for aesthetics. Ever since, Daniel wants to connect people with their environment to illustrate the soul of a place. By using all kinds of compositional and harmonic elements such as lines, forms, patterns, light and proportions, Daniel playfully educates the viewer that beautiful and artsy moments can be found everywhere and at any time.
In his approach as a quiet photographer, he mindfully observes the environment to capture random occurring and fleeting moments. Putting his captured impressions into a temporary spotlight, visually isolated from the surrounding chaos, he carefully masters the balancing act of getting an aesthetical interpretation without creating a posed appearance and highlighting the surprisingly appealing strangeness of a place.
As part of this concept, he intentionally uses his smartphone only. For Daniel, it is crucial that mobile photography is immediate and reactive and allows him to create visual stories and sensitive insights without disturbing the environment. In 2019, some of his work has been shared by Apple and Adobe. In addition, his work has been awarded at the International Photography Awards (Smartphone Category) and as Grand Prize Winner of the Mobile Photography Awards. One of his pictures, taken with his iPhone, made it to the Shortlist of the renowned Sony World Photography Awards.

Sebastian Grundgeir is living and working as a trained architect and self-educated photographer in Zurich. Born in Hamburg he went out to study architecture in Hannover and discovered his passion for photography whilst studying. However, his profession as well as his love of nature and the alpine soon called and made him move to Switzerland.His photographic emphasis lies in architectural photography and landscape photography. Besides the mountains and Swiss architecture, which form the main body of work, his portfolio holds projects across the entire Alpine region and beyond. Sebastian’s photographs portrait moments in time, which he understands as a mixture of actual documentation and emotional illustration. He stresses the elements that were the incentive for the capture, accentuates colors and forms, without unnaturally distorting them. His compositions are consciously chosen, composed and most of the time carefully planned.

Hi everybody! I’m a sicilan musician and photographer, I grow up in Siracusa (a gorgeous, little city located right in the middle of Sicily’s east cost) and I’m based in Basel for quite a couple of years (20!). I love photography since I’m a teenager, I’ve been moving my very first steps with an analog camera, then I’ve discovered the “digital world” and since then i take pictues mostly with Nikon equipment.&nbsp;After having kept photography as “my passion” for quite a long time, in 2018 I started working for other people as well, mainly as portrait and reportage photographer, most of the time in the environment I know the best: music, theater, art.&nbsp;It’s been so far a very exciting and inspiring experience and I’m very curious about how this whole adventure will evolve…

Following a decade of working as a researcher in wildlife conservation, specializing in large felid ecology, Malini Pittet turned to wildlife photojournalism. The reason for the change in career was based on the possibility to reach a greater audience to create awareness aboutconservation through photography and story-telling. Malini was born and brought up in India and moved to Europe to attend university. She completed a Master degree in Biodiversity Conservation and Management at the Durrell Institute of Conservation and Ecology, University of Kent. Her various research projects gave her the opportunity to study leopards and tigers in India, Arabian leopards in Yemen as well as jaguars, pumas and ocelots in the Peruvian Amazon.Malini loves traveling and photographing wildlife around the world. Her travels have taken her to many countries around the world such as Australia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Iran, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Oman, Ethiopia, Burkina Faso, South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Madagascar, Seychelles, Brazil and many more!The combination of wildlife photography and traveling brings together a perfect combination, something Malini is keen to share. The photographic interests of Matthias Gaberthüel are versatile and this reflects his extensive portfolio. He has been carrying around his camera for more than two decades and through his occupation as an agricultural scientist he had the opportunity to discover much of the world. Travelling always inspires him over and over and influence his work. His picture language is characterized by harmony and aesthetics, balancing art and technique. Matthias lives with his family in the Leimental near Basel.

A Pharmacist by education and a photographer by trade, my journey started in Denmark after moving there from my home country Egypt where I started to look at photography as a career option, not just a hobby. Moving to Switzerland fuelled this passion with an environment that allows capturing the most memorable emotions wrapped in the most breathtaking landscape. It was also when I got certified from the New York Institute of Photography through their online program. I now have a studio in Reinach BL, and enjoy taking portraits of individuals and businesses, with a particular interest in digital art and more extravagant, creative portraiture.

After completing his Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism and Organizational Communication, Stefan mainly devoted himself to photography and video production. His great passion is travel photography, which offers a wonderful mix of portraits and landscapes. That’s why he travels the world with his camera again and again, always in the hunt for special photo moments.The photographic works have been published by National Geographic Germany, ZEISS Lenspire and Sony Fotospiegel for example.When Stefan is not traveling around the world, he shares his knowledge with the participants in photo courses and workshops, realizes photography and video projects for companies and works for Swiss Radio and Television.Stefan sees photography as the most beautiful form of visual art and as something bigger than the photographer himself.

Silvano likes to describe himself as a fine art photographer with a focus in both, landscape and architecture photography. Timelessness, precision and more often than not a certain calmness are typical for his imagery. His photography has been awarded and published at PhotoSchweiz.He loves to be out and about, to immerse himself in cities but even more so in nature. His camera accompanies him not only when he’s in nature or on booked architectural shoots, but basically always. For Silvano photography is his permanent companion, practicing documentary photography on short walks near but also long journeys far and abroad.Silvano loves to share his passion for photography, that’s why he’s excited to be an instructor at SPC.

I am a Brazilian photographer with an undergraduate degree in Fashion from the Federal University of State of Minas Gerais and a graduate degree in Designer and Culture from the University FUMEC. I lived in New York City where I studied photography at the School of Visual Arts moving subsequently to Barcelona. I now reside in Zurich. During my last 13 years I changed the direction of my path as a photographer. Photography has always been my passion, my therapy, my joy to wake up at sunrise and my most fulfilling experience. I see the world through the frames of the camera and beauty in every corner what makes me year after year feel the need to go deeper into this art. After many corporate years in Eventmanagement and Communication, Flavia took the leap and became self dependant in the photography field. Even though she started with landscape photography many years ago, she now specialized in emotional photography. On one side, she captures weddings, newborn, events and portraits, and on the other side, she travels with NGOs to document their charitable projects. Starting with the analog technology up to today’s smart phone photography, I am fascinated by photography. As a physics lab technician I immersed myself in the world of photography during my apprenticeship. With an illustrative approach I started to take pictures. After graduating with a bachelor’s degree in aviation, I began to look beyond the fence of safety and logic.Passionate about culture and art, people and nature, I focus my life on telling stories in the form of photographs – often accompanied by text. Virtuosity and imagination play a bigger role on this playing field than calculability and logic, and I enjoy communicating this. Since 2012 I have been working as a freelance photographer, mainly in the fields of winter sports, travel and documentary photography.

Hi, my name is Pascal and I have been happily married for many years and have three wonderful children. I am humorous, creative, open, honest and uncomplicated. For several years now, I have been intensively involved in the world of photography. The FH course offers a sound education for the media industry. Learning the creative and professional process during the shoot, capturing reports in a contemporary and informative way as well as the preparation and post-processing, the handling of Adobe Photoshop as well as Adobe Photoshop Lightroom and all the necessary knowledge for the versatile work in the photographic environment. Or in short: Photography is fun ? For several years I worked with Nikon full-frame cameras and fast professional lenses. The quality and reliability of Nikon is and remains breathtaking. Nevertheless, for some time now I have preferred to use the Fujifilm brand for photo reportage and shoots.

Philipp Funke discovered his passion for photography in his early childhood. Coming from a family of architects, his interest in the interplay of formal and social aspects was fostered. He studied architecture at the Berlin University of the Arts and at the Macintosh School of Art in Glasgow. In 2006, he graduated with a master's degree.After ten years as an architect, he concentrated on his work as a photographer and completed further training in visual design with a focus on photography at the School for Design in Zurich.As a primary motif, architectural content characterizes his work. He analyzes the situations depicted on a formal as well as on a political and social level, often abandoning the purely documentary character of photography and giving the images an intrinsic value by making his original intention visible.In various group exhibitions in Germany and Switzerland, he mainly showed his large-format works such as "lichen structures", "Nature of Geometry" or "Opening Red Doors". The latter series about the rooms of Enver Hoxha's villa in Tirana was awarded in the category architecture at the International Photography Awards 2021.Philipp Funke lectured at the University of Liechtenstein, the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) Zurich and the Fotoclub Schweiz on various topics of (architectural) photography. He lives and works in New York, Zurich and Berlin.

People often asked me why I wanted to become a photographer. I didn't know the answer, only that I really couldn't imagine doing anything else. After successfully completing my apprenticeship in a studio that specializes in portrait and wedding photography, I know that I made exactly the right decision with my career choice. The camera gives me the opportunity to look behind the scenes, which is an incredible privilege for me. So often it has been a door opener into worlds that are sometimes unknown to me and to the most diverse people. That's why portrait and documentary photography are among my greatest passions. This way I can create stories and pass them on. With one of these stories I already received the Canon Award in 2016 in the Photobastei Zurich.&nbsp; After my education and a longer trip, I moved from a small village in the countryside to the city of Bern, where I now work independently and am the proud tenant of a photo studio. I love to travel, laugh a lot and get to know new people.

Placido Faranda is an Award-winning and Worldwide published (National Geographic, Lonely planet, Vanity Fair, ABCnews, GQ etc.) aerial photographer whose style reflects a constant quest for new landscape colors and contrasts. Placido has been passionate about photography for over 10 years, combining DSLR and mirrorless camera technology to shoot travel and street photography.Since 2016 he’s focused exclusively on drone photography, with a very distinctive top-down style that’s gained international attention on social media (TOP 50 aerial photographer of 2016 on Instagram’s @FROMWHEREIDRONE, an authority on aerial photography). In 2017, his picture “Lady in Red” was a finalist at the Sony World Photography Awards (travel category), placing it in the top 10 of 105,692 images entered from 182 countries. The same picture was also included in the World Photography Organization’s Sony Awards Traveling Exhibitions in London, Milan, Paris and Berlin. Another of his pictures, “Solidified Lava vs Forest” was awarded second place at the 2017 PX3, Prix de la Photographie Paris (landscape category). “Solidified Lava vs Forest” gained further worldwide exposure after being featured on National Geographic’s homepage as the “Picture of the day” in the United States, China, Japan, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Holland, Brazil and Portugal. In October 2017 the picture was awarded second place at the IPA (International Photography Awards) and chosen by the awards’ curator for the “IPA Best of Show” exhibition in New York. In November 2017 “Solidified Lava vs Forest” was awarded 1st place at ND awards 2017 and chosen over 6849 entries from 89 countries.In 2018, for the second year in a row, his picture “The Big Meringue” is finalist at the Sony World Photography Awards (Landscape and Nature category) placing it in the top 10 of 129,338 images entered from 183 countries. In June 2018 the same picture was awarded Winner of “San Francisco Bay International Photo Show 2018”.

Since finishing the apprenticeship as Fotografin EFZ in 2014, i work as an independent photographer.I am really into portraying People and also love to shoot fairy Fashion Stories.As&nbsp;freelance photographer i work in the fields of press and advertising photography since 2018.So my main&nbsp;work is corporate, portrait and editorial&nbsp;photography.Growing up in a small community in the canton of Zurich, i currently lives with my pug lady in the canton of Lucerne but still have my Atelier in Zurich where work.As photography has a lot to do with storytelling, i love to put&nbsp;a message in every picture i&nbsp;take. After that I graduated for 5 years with a state recognized diploma, the "Escuela de Arte y Diseño" in Tarragona and Reus.Back in Switzerland I worked again as a photographer and for three years in an art gallery in Zurich.Since 1999 I work as a freelance photographer and today I live in Wetzikon, where I also have my studio.I enjoy working in different areas of photography and am happy to share my knowledge and experience.

Niels is a passionate photographer. In his professional life he has been able to work for many companies and private individuals.&nbsp;As a visually very demanding person, Niels works in a wide variety of areas. Whether in landscape, street photography, architectural photography or in the studio, he is always looking for aesthetic perfection. He has now made a name for himself primarily as a portrait and event photographer.

Duilio A. Martins, was born in 1981 in São Paulo, Brazil. In 2000 he went to England, to study the language and experience the European art and culture. There he studied photography which had been, until then, only a hobby. After that he followed a sculpture training. Since then he works as sculptor, fine art photographer, teacher and photographer specialised in reproduction of art works. In 2010 he moved to Switzerland after living for sometime in Paris and Norway. For the last 5 years he is a guest teacher at the Visual Art School Basel. His photographs and sculptures have been exhibited in Brazil, England, Norway, Germany and Switzerland.&nbsp;

I’m a passionate photographer since more than 30 years.I have nearly experienced every step of photography technology. Starting with analog photography including the developing and exposing of pictures. I could get to know nearly every experience with the camera and specialize myself.In my early beginnings I’ve started taking shots of races. While I have always loved animals and began to keep exotic animals, I have started also to take pictures of Animals.Nearly all my life I had a dog, which followed me nearly anywhere. So I&nbsp;also began to take dog pictures, which I started to specialize myself on.Now my passions are animal photography, human with animals, human as likely product- and marketing photography.In these sectors I also work as an photographer and coach.

Benjamin Barakat is a real estate photographer by day and astrophotographer by night. Born &amp; raised in the United Kingdom, he has lived on two continents and several countries over his lifespan.His journey into photography began with stargazing and his dream to photograph the night sky. He soon realized anything can be achieved when you put your mind to it, and from there on he expanded his knowledge of photography through perseverance and hard work. He speaks fluent English, good German, and also a little Arabic.Based in Switzerland since 2015, he has visited over 30 countries and has a great knowledge of the Middle Eastern countries. When he isn’t travelling or giving workshops at Swiss Photo Club, he spends most of his time dedicated to astrophotography, and with his wife &amp; and family at home.Benjamin works primarily with astro- and long exposure photography. Daniel von Rüdiger (Ph.D.) is a photographer, filmmaker, and musician. He studied Visual Communication, Communication Strategies and Iconic Research in Munich, Augsburg and Basel. He got his Ph.D. from the University of Art Linz for his investigation on the connection of rhythm in work, film and music. In his artistic research, he generates theoretic findings through artistic practice. Daniel von Rüdiger uses photography as a tool for artistic expression as well as for documentation. He works as a social documentary photographer and filmmaker for nonprofit organizations in Nepal and Papua New Guinea. His photographs of the daily life of indigenous people have been exhibited amongst others in the Gropius Bau Berlin, Rietberg Museum Zurich and the Queensland Art Gallery in Brisbane. As a photo-artist, he is represented by the German-based gallery Pablo &amp; Paul.&nbsp;&nbsp;Daniel von Rüdiger uses his DSLR not just to take photos but also for filming. For the Museum of Culture in Basel, he made the award-winning documentary Kanu belong Keram. As a musician, he is also in charge of the soundtracks of his films. He forms together with the guitarist Carl the duo 0101 ( <a href="http://www.0101.wtf" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" style="background-color: transparent; color: rgb(5, 99, 193);">www.0101.wtf</a> ) who produces film scores.&nbsp; Daniel von Rüdiger can look back on more than ten years of teaching in academia. The last years he was lecturer for photography at the Academy of Art and Design, Basel. Besides, he is getting booked as a keynote speaker to spread his knowledge on rhythm and his experiences about Papua New Guinea.

My interest in photography began in high school when I took a photographic laboratory course. I have been fascinated how the picture was starting to develop and got his shape in the developing bath. This enthusiasm was the beginning of my photographic career. I started my education at the CEPV in Vevey, continued it in Lucerne, and finally finished my apprenticeship as a photographer EFZ in Worb by Bern. Afterwards, I have been working in a commercial photo studio for two years. Since that time, I focus on still life, portrait, and reportage photography.The camera is a door opener to other worlds, wherefore I am completely enthralled by photography. In what other job is it possible to be on an airfield, listen to lectures from specialists, or speak with sommeliers about wine?&nbsp;When I am not on the way with my camera, I study at the University of Bern, go hiking in our nice Alps, or enjoy a nice evening with my friends.

I live and work in Vättis. In 1987 I began to work with photography as a self-taught photographer. From 2006 to 2010 I completed a photographic training with Martin Vogel, Lucerne. In 2008, I joined the association. Since 2009 I have been showing my photographs in regular exhibitions.&nbsp;&nbsp; In 2015 I started to photograph with the digital technique of cross development, in 2017 with the in-camera method of double exposure. Since 2019 I have been working as a freelance photographic artist. My camera is an Olympus OM-D.&nbsp;

Celina Schroeder, originating from Wädenswil (ZH), has a bachelor of fine arts with the main subjects in painting and photography (film making) from the UNSW in Sydney (Australia) and a diploma in Branding (Marketing) from the WDKA in Rotterdam (NL). With her unique education combining the fields of commercial as well as the artistic photography. Schroeder focusses on the technical as well as expressive (story telling) aspects within her work. With a couple of years of teaching experience, Schroeder aims to guide her students from understanding diverse settings on cameras in general to successfully using their own equipment to develop their own unique style in order to express their own artistic visions.&nbsp;

Jürgen has a degree in linguistics and film science from the University of Zurich. He started photography in his youth, learning the trade from his father in the field and in their dark room. Through the years, his goal in photography was to find beauty where others didn’t even look for it. To discover locations, perspectives, and stories in unexpected places. Starting out with street and landscape photography, he expanded his portfolio to portraits. His passion is not only take pictures but also to share his experience and insights into the craft and art of photography with others.

Anna Korbut is a photographer from Ukraine. She is mostly in landscape, fine art, portrait and commercial photography. Inspired by nature and human connection to it. Her photographs combine the colourful picturesqueness of classical paintings and modern methods of working with digital images. Without excessive interference with the images, she captures the natural changes of the world. Landscape photography shows the beauty, grandeur and fragility of our world. Photography took an important part in my life while I was studying engineering, because I started to work as an assistant to earn some side money, but it soon grew to be the its pivotal element.As assistant in Milano I enjoyed the best of the profession working alongside with professionals in almost any field, architecture, industrial, fashion, still life, and then after opening my studio, I kept experimenting and working.Witnessing the transition to digital was just fun, I could add yet another skillset to my experience, while retaining my vision.I live in Basel since six years, and I am working for industrial companies, architecture studios, and a wide array of different clients.For the last 10 years I have also been shooting long lasting time-lapses projects depicting a number of subjects, from art installations, to industrial montage or building renovation.

My love of nature and the beauty of the world that surrounds us inspire my photographs. I have a special interest in landscape photography. My photos are characterised by the attention to detail and the observation of light and shadow, which in combination result in beautiful creations. My aim is to represent a mood and a landscape in such a way that the character of the landscape and its uniqueness is preserved. In contrast to a work of art, I don't want to create anything new, but to represent the landscape in the best moment for my taste. The courses give me the stimulation and the exchange that is important in my work, to remain curious and to keep breaking new ground.

Lindsay is renowned for her creativity and collaborating with designers and stylists in order to create fresh looks.Lindsay’s energy and enthusiastic teaching style showcase her excitement to share her passion and knowledge with others, whether it is world-wide through prestigious platforms such as CreativeLive, KelbyOne, and the industry’s largest conferences, or through her blog, video tutorials or her five books.She is located in Manhattan shooting fashion full time. She is honoured to have been named a Canon Explorer of Light as well as a Profoto Legend of Light.She looks forward to meeting new photographers in Switzerland!

With advanced training in photography, Claudia González has been involved in the coordination and management of cultural events related to photography, books, exhibition projects in museums, galleries and art fairs in Europe and America, as well as the organisation of photo travel workshops in several continents. With more than 15 years as a professional photographer and as many others as an amateur, she has extensive experience in portrait workshops, an activity she enjoys very much. Her personal work has been published around the world, winning numerous awards and mentions. She has spent the last few years developing her mixed media work and expanding her knowledge.

I was born in Italy and had the luck to live in sone of its most beautiful cities: Rome, Venice, Florence and Milan. My official job is civil engineering, beside it I always cultivated my love for all forms of art. I studied acting in Milan and participated in several&nbsp;TV commercials and theater shows… till I found the true art form in photography thanks to Swissphotoclub. I live in Switzerland for 14 years with my family and it was in Zurich, that I picked up an old Reflex camera, felt in love with it and started taking my first courses…. Since then&nbsp;I haven't stopped. More courses, workshops, photo trips until the first direct contacts from agencies that have engaged me for advertising and marketing photos. The beauty! Photography has allowed me to see it everywhere, frequently in the most unexpected places. I walk the streets always with a camera looking for moments to steal, looking for beauty. I love Streetphotography, in all its forms: the minimalism in the geometries of a street, the reflections, the lights and shadows, the details but also the stories that the street can tell us.

Osan left his corporate career in 2013 to follow his passion of photography. After graduating from New York Film Academy, he founded Swiss Photo Club to share his passion and create a community. He is specialised in Portraits, Events, Wedding and landscape photography. He is also a certified Adobe Photoshop instructor.
 Osan continuously strives to create a personal connection with his subjects, to add that personal spark to each photo. His teaching style is crisp, to the point, and focused on getting the participant practice what she/he learned.
